Keyhole or laparoscopic Femoral hernia  repair

Femoral hernia often present acutely incarcerated with something stuck in them. This may involve bowel which will need to be removed. Because of this open surgery is prefered. There are different ways to approach a femoral hernia, from below or a small incision just above the groin.

However the keyhole, preperitoneal TEPP operation gives great access to the femoral defect which can be closed with mesh.
